  • British Values Ambassadors

These are our British Values Ambassadors for 2024-2025. They were selected by their peers during a vote in September. We will meet regularly to discuss different values and how we can implement them into our school life.

    The British Values are:

    • Democracy

    • Tolerance

    • Respect

    • Liberty

    • Rule of Law

    VE Day medal winners

Well done to everyone who designed their own medal to celebrate VE Day. The Ambassadors voted for their favourite design from each class. We explained that this is a value to celebrate-democracy!

    Another big well done!

    VE Day

We explained that a special celebration is happening next week, 80 years since the German Army surrendered to Europe. We watched a video of old footage of celebrations and saw our Prime Minister at the time, Winston Churchill. I explained that roads would be closed to lay out tables and chairs for a party. We watched how we could do similar celebrations but at school....
    *Put banners up.
    *Wear fancy clothes.
    *Wear bright colours.
We realised that red, white and blue are the colours of Great Britain's flag so these could be best! We thought having a picnic in school at dinner time with decorated tables and songs playing in the background could be a fun way to celebrate.
We are going to host a medal design competition throughout school and we will choose the best designs from each class.

    Remembrance Day

A tradition in our country is remembering those that have lost their lives in war. We have a wonderful display in our school hall of the art work. We always listen to The Last Post being played on a cornet by Steve in our Remembrance Day assembly each year.

Ms Otter started the week with an assembly teaching us all about Harvest time. Then we worked as a team to collect together this generous Harvest Festival donation which we gave to our local food bank in Arnold. Thank you to all the parents, carers and staff who took part.
